Ingredients
Scale
2 oz Blanco Tequila
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.75 oz Agave Nectar
3 thin slices Fresh JalapeƱo (seeds removed for less heat)
Chili-Lime Seasoning (like Tajin) for rim
Lime wedge for garnish
Ice
Instructions
Prepare the glass rim by running a lime wedge around the edge of a rocks glass. Roll the rim in the chili-lime seasoning. Fill the glass with ice.
In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the three slices of fresh jalapeƱo with the agave nectar. Muddle just enough to release the oils and flavor, do not over-muddle.
Add the tequila and fresh lime juice to the shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake well until thoroughly chilled, about 15 seconds.
Double strain the mixture into the prepared, ice-filled glass.
Garnish with a lime wedge. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a milder heat level, use only one slice of jalapeƱo or substitute with a dash of your favorite chili liqueur.
If you prefer a sweeter drink, increase the agave nectar to 1 oz.
Use a high-quality 100% agave tequila for the best flavor in this spicy tequila drink.
