Make this rich, velvety garlic parmesan pasta in one pot. This recipe delivers restaurant-quality comfort food fast, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or angel hair pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth or water
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Place the pasta, chicken broth, minced garlic, salt, and pepper into a large pot or deep skillet.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer uncovered for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed, stirring frequently.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of hot water or extra broth until you reach your desired consistency.
  6. Serve immediately with extra grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the chicken broth with whole milk.
  • You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic for a little heat.
  • This recipe works well with other pasta shapes like penne or rotini if you prefer.
