Make these classic, no-bake peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate. They are simple to prepare and perfect for holiday trays or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Combine the peanut butter and softened butter in a large bowl. Beat them together until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the peanut butter mixture, mixing on low speed until fully combined. The mixture will become stiff.
  3. Roll the peanut butter mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the peanut butter balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  5. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate according to package directions. You can use a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently.
  6. Dip each chilled peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, leaving a small circle of peanut butter exposed at the top (like a buckeye candy).
  7. Return the dipped balls to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or briefly in the refrigerator before serving or storing.

Notes

  • For a smoother dipping consistency, add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to the melted chocolate.
  • If you prefer a different look, you can fully coat the balls in chocolate instead of leaving a small spot exposed.
  • Store these peanut butter candy treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
