Make this cold, creamy Hoagie Dip that captures all the flavors of a classic Italian sub sandwich. It is a simple, make-ahead party appetizer perfect for game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing (tangy style)
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup ham, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup salami, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomato, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lettuce, finely shredded (optional, for texture)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and Italian dressing. Mix until the base is smooth and fully combined.
  2. Fold in the shredded provolone cheese, chopped ham, salami, and pepperoni. Mix gently to distribute the meats evenly.
  3. Stir in the finely chopped red onion, chopped banana peppers, and shredded lettuce, if using.
  4. Season the dip with salt and pepper to your preference. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the Hoagie Dip in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Chilling allows the flavors to blend.
  6. Serve cold with crackers, sturdy chips, baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, prepare this cold deli meat dip a day ahead of time. The chilling period deepens the sandwich flavors.
  • If you prefer a tangier dip, use a robust, oil-and-vinegar based Italian dressing.
  • To make this a Philly style dip, you can add a small amount of finely chopped green bell pepper with the red onion.
  • Keep any leftover dip refrigerated and consume within three days.
