Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles, drained
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced jalapeños, drained (use more or less to adjust heat)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or a similar-sized oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, cooked bacon, green chiles, diced jalapeños, green onion, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Spread the dip mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 4 ounces of softened cream cheese with the panko breadcrumbs and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the dip mixture.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly throughout and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Let the dip cool for about 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • You can prepare the entire dip mixture, cover it, and refrigerate it up to 24 hours ahead of time. Add the topping just before baking.
  • For a less spicy dip, remove the seeds and membranes from the fresh jalapeños before dicing, or use pickled jalapeños for a milder flavor.
  • Serve this hot dip recipe with sturdy tortilla chips, sturdy crackers, or sliced baguette rounds.
