Make this irresistible pull-apart bread using store-bought dough for a quick appetizer. It features melted cheese, garlic butter, and herbs, perfect for sharing at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound store-bought pizza dough or refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or a 1.5-quart round baking dish.
  2. If using pizza dough, roll it out slightly and cut it into 1-inch squares. If using biscuit dough, separate the biscuits.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian herbs, and salt. Mix well to create the garlic butter.
  4. In a separate bowl, toss the dough pieces with about half of the garlic butter mixture until lightly coated.
  5. Layer the dough pieces into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the layers of dough.
  6. Drizzle the remaining garlic butter mixture over the top layer of cheese and dough.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  9. Serve warm and let everyone pull off a cheesy piece.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese along with the mozzarella and cheddar.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, bake the bread in a cast-iron skillet instead of a loaf pan.
  • This recipe works well as a side dish for pasta or soup, or as a party appetizer.
