A bright red, easy-to-make holiday margarita perfect for single servings or large batches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Garnish: Lime wheel, fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, rosemary sprig
  • For Rim: Coarse salt or sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glasses: Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt or sugar.
  2. Combine all liquid ingredients (tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and simple syrup) in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Seal the shaker and shake well until thoroughly chilled, about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Fill your prepared glasses with fresh ice.
  5. Strain the margarita mixture into the prepared glasses.
  6. Garnish each drink with a lime wheel, a few fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, and a small rosemary sprig for a festive look.
  7. For pitcher preparation, multiply all liquid ingredients by the number of servings desired. Mix all ingredients in a pitcher, chill for at least one hour, and stir well before serving over ice.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, substitute the tequila and orange liqueur with equal parts white grape juice and a splash of orange juice.
  • Adjust the simple syrup amount based on the sweetness of your cranberry and pomegranate juices.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor in your holiday margarita.
