Make this bold, zesty Cowboy Butter Dipping Sauce in 15 minutes. This garlic herb butter is rich, flavorful, and perfect for dipping steak, chicken, shrimp, or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, chives, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until they are fully combined and the mixture looks uniform.
  3. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and red pepper flakes, if you are using them.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust salt or pepper as needed.
  5. Serve the Cowboy Butter Dipping Sauce immediately while warm, or chill it to use as a compound butter spread later.

Notes

  • For a compound butter, allow the mixture to cool slightly, then shape it into a log using plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm. Slice off rounds to melt over hot food.
  • This sauce pairs well with grilled steak, chicken breasts, shrimp skewers, or drizzled over roasted potatoes.
  • You can substitute regular paprika for smoked paprika if you prefer less smoke flavor.
