Assemble this decadent, no-bake Baileys Chocolate Cheesecake Trifle for a show-stopping dessert perfect for holidays or parties. You get rich layers of chocolate cake, creamy cheesecake filling, and Irish cream flavor without turning on the oven.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream liqueur
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix, prepared according to package directions and cooled (or 1 package store-bought chocolate pound cake, cubed)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate fudge sauce or ganache
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to the box directions. Let it cool completely, then cut or crumble it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Fold in the Baileys Irish Cream liqueur until just combined. Then, gently fold in the thawed whipped topping to create the cheesecake layer.
  5. Begin assembling the trifle in a large glass trifle bowl or individual serving glasses. Start with a layer of chocolate cake pieces on the bottom.
  6. Drizzle the cake layer lightly with some of the chocolate fudge sauce.
  7. Spoon half of the Baileys cheesecake mixture evenly over the chocolate layer.
  8. Repeat the layers: add the remaining chocolate cake pieces, drizzle with more fudge sauce, and top with the remaining cheesecake mixture.
  9. Cover the trifle and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set.
  10. Before serving, garnish the top layer generously with chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • For an adult-only dessert, you can substitute some of the heavy cream with additional Baileys in the cheesecake layer, but reduce the amount slightly to maintain structure.
  • If you want mini trifles, use small jars or clear glasses and layer the ingredients in the same order.
  • You can make this recipe ahead of time; it tastes even better the next day.
