Make incredibly juicy and tender air fryer pork chops with a perfect golden, crispy exterior. This simple seasoning rub works for both boneless and bone-in cuts, making it the ideal solution for a fast, satisfying weeknight dinner.

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve a crispy exterior.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and dried thyme to create the seasoning rub.
  3. Brush both sides of the pork chops lightly with olive oil.
  4. Generously coat both sides of the pork chops with the seasoning rub, pressing it gently into the meat.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 5 minutes.
  6. Place the seasoned pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Work in batches if necessary to avoid crowding.
  7. Air fry for 10 to 14 minutes, flipping the chops halfway through the cooking time. The exact time depends on the thickness of your chops.
  8. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Pork is done when it reaches 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part.
  9. Remove the pork chops from the air fryer and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before serving. This resting period keeps the meat tender and juicy.

Notes

  • For bone-in chops, you may need 1 to 2 minutes extra cooking time.
  • If your chops are very thin (under 3/4 inch), reduce the cooking time to 8 to 10 minutes total.
  • Resting the meat is crucial for retaining the juices you worked hard to keep inside.
